Koduru Tejeswar Wins The Gold in 16th International Olympiad on Astronomy & Astrophysics (IOAA) in Chorzów, Poland !!!
The International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (IOAA) is an annual international competition for high school students with a keen interest in astronomy and astrophysics. The Olympiad aims to promote scientific thinking and encourage young minds to explore the field of astronomy. Participants from different countries come together to compete and showcase their knowledge and skills in solving challenging astronomy and astrophysics problems.
Koduru Tejeswar, a student of 'FIITJEE Vijayawada , Andhra Pradesh', has won the GOLD Medal and Team India secured the Second Rank at the 16 th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad held in Poland. His selection was the result of a rigorous selection camp held at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE), which is a part of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) located in Mumbai, India.
Tejeswar's remarkable achievement is a testament to his dedication, hard work, and exceptional talent in the field of astronomy and astrophysics. By being one among the Four Gold Medal winners in the Indian Team he has shown an edge and his mettle to compete on a global stage.
The 16th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad was held in Chorzow, Poland between 10th August and 20th August 2023, has provided Tejeswar and his fellow participants a platform to showcase their skills and knowledge in various challenging tasks and competitions. This event has not only fostered healthy competition but also promoted collaboration and exchange of ideas among young minds passionate about the mysteries of the universe.

Tailor's son stitches success, stands 5th

Mavuri Shiva Krishna Manohar
He had thought of dropping out of school due to financial constraints. But Mavuri Shiva Krishna Manohar ended up securing all-India 5th rank in the JEE (Advanced) results. Shiva Krishna was also declared the topper in the Madras IIT zone and he also scored first rank in the OBC-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) category.
Shiva Krishna, a native of a village in Visakhapatnam, hails from a lower middle-class family. His father, Nageswara Rao, works as a tailor. "I never thought I would be able to achieve this. I hail from a tribal area and studied at a government school till class V and later got into Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya. I completed schooling from there and got free admission at FIITJEE, Vijayawada, and secured top rank in Madras IIT Zone," Shiva Krishna said.
"Hard work, encouragement and guidance of experts helped me achieve this rank. Support of my parents was invaluable," said Shiva Krishna, who wants to study computer science at IIT-Bombay.
